The Gift Of Giving

The Gift Of Giving

By Lisa Fletcher | 02-12-20

2020 has been a difficult year for communities across Australia. And as Christmas approaches – it is becoming increasingly clear that many Australians are going to struggle to have even a modest celebration.

This year, the team at Peake Real Estate would like to share the joy of Christmas with those less fortunate by donating to the Salvation Army’s Gift Drive. Rather than purchasing Kris Kringle gifts for other members of the team, we will each donate a gift to those who need it most.

We all know Christmas is a time for joy. But for those doing it tough – it is often challenging, heartbreaking and isolating. Every Christmas, The Salvation Army provides around 160,000 meals and over 64,000 hampers and vouchers to individuals and families in need. As COVID-19 continues to impact individuals, families and communities across the country, your support now is more important than ever. By donating food or gifts, you can help us make sure we leave no one in need this festive season.

We kindly invite your support also, by contributing a new gift or gift voucher (unwrapped) to help make Christmas brighter for families in need.

If you wish to donate, we welcome you to place your gift under our Christmas tree (call our office so we can co-ordinate a time for you to drop off your gift)  prior Monday 14th December.

Some useful tips for gift donations:

*Please consider giving gifts for a range of age groups, including teenagers and parents

*Consider donating gift vouchers – A gift voucher means a parent or guardian can still share in the unique joy of buying a gift for their child or family member (vouchers are also ideal for teenagers)

*Please leave gifts unwrapped so parents or guardians can choose which gifts suit their child’s interest and personality (feel free to include wrapping paper or gift bags)

*Your donated gift may be the only present someone receives this Christmas, so please donate new items only.

*Please leave gifts unwrapped, so parents/guardians can experience the dignity and joy of choosing gifts based on the recipients’ interests or personality. Feel free to include wrapping paper or gift bags with the gifts.

Let’s make this Christmas brighter for families in need.
